Dot NAME Domain Names

Set up in 2001, the Dot NAME top-level domain extension is the sole TLD meant for personal sites only. These domains can include personal or fictitious names, nicknames and/or other titles people are known by. At first, solely 3rd-level registrations were permitted, so if you wanted to register john.doe.name, you were required to do that under .doe.name. In 2004, however, the registration process was loosened and second-level registrations were also allowed. Already registered 3rd-level names remained active.

Through our company, you can reserve your .NAME domain for a time interval between one and ten years. You will be able to alter the WHOIS details, to park your domain, to set up Custom DNS records, etc. You can also move over an existing domain to our company if you acquire its EPP transfer code from the present registration provider and we will renew it after the transfer has been finalized. There are no special stipulations on who can purchase a dot NAME domain name, but in order to maintain the objective behind its establishment alive, the .NAME Registry organization may verify who the owner is and if there is no relation between the owner and the actual domain, the registration may be challenged.
